A word from the Boss
Hi all
Well, what can I say, what a summer! Congratulations to all of you who have convertibles. Pity the weather here can’t be more
“normal” – first we have almost tropical heat for five weeks, then it’s almost autumn for a few weeks, and now it’s back to a more
“normal” Swedish summer.
Of course, we spent the tropical weeks moving from Enköping. When we finally were settled in our new house and had time to
enjoy the summer the weather changed. But now I live in Charlottenberg in Sigtuna, Stockholm, and this is now also the club's
new address.
I hear rumours that my car now is known as the ghost chevy. (Not many people have seen it, only heard of it.) The explanation is
that someone has to get flags, tents, fences, signs, and everything else that we need to our car meetings and then I need my
Volvo cabinet or my motorhome. But this year I have actually driven close to 400 kilometers with the Chevy. I have no witnesses
of course, but it is true!
Our meetings have been great and I would like to thank all of you who helped us making them a success. Lars-Erik Källström,
Fredrik Juul, Kalle Jansson and of course our busy bee Ove Lindberg (what would I do without him?) just to name a few. I'm
really grateful for that. Thanks also to all of our ensurance inspectors who have inspected cars all around the country.
Please see the pictures from our members from our meetings on the website and the forum.
Our meeting in Gullspång was a thrill, despite the storm that came on Friday, but the Chevy people are a tough crowd so we had
fun nonetheless.
About Power Meet, there were more cars in our club area compared to last year, but it’s not funny to see how the other club
areas are filled with cars, while most of our members park out on the big field and our club area is half empty. After all we have
put a lot of effort in arranging this area. Perhaps we shall give up the club area and put our flag up in the big field instead. What
do you think? I greatly appreciate any tips from all of you.
We have our annual meeting coming up; we are currently looking for a suitable place to hold it. We plan to hold the meeting in
October. Time and place will be announced later.
This is all for now, but I almost forgot to mention that we are now working with the planned club magazine which we hope to start
next year. A club magazine of course costs money and you can contribute by visiting the website and buy some cool stuff from
the club shop.
Have a nice autumn; there are still lots of opportunities to drive your Chevys before the snow comes!
